How to run games with Unity SDK 0.8 in CV1 Oculus

I expect you to die - SDK 0.8
If you have the Oculus Rift CV1 and want to try games and demos created with the SDK 0.8, we explain how in this article.

Una de las principales «quejas» por parte de los usuarios de la versión final de Oculus Rift es que los juegos y demos creadas usando SDK’s anteriores no son compatibles con la versión 1.3 actual, con lo que hasta que los desarrolladores de dichas apps y juegos no los actualicen no se podrán usar en las CV1 (if they get to do it in some cases ...).

Luckily there are some tricks to run these applications in our beloved Oculus, at least created with Unity SDK 0.8. In this article we are going to explain how to do it in a very simple way and although it is not compatible with all games diponibles, yes it will be with some worthwhile, as Affected, I Expect to Die, Cyberspace, Dino Jungle ... To mention some we've tested.

Instructions for games ejectuar SDK 0.8 SDK 1.3

  1. Descargamos el archivo «OVRPlugin for Unity 5» desde you here.
  2. Unzip and open the folder 5.3 / Oculus.
  3. Now we need to know if the game runs at 32 or 64 bits, so we run for it and open the task manager. That version next to the name of the game will appear ..
  4. OVRPlugin.dll copy the file to the appropriate folder.
  5. We open the parent folder of the game and entered the loquesea_Data / Plugins folder.
  6. Paste the copied file and replace the OVRPlugin.dll was inside.
  7. Ready, and we can run the game normally.

May not work all the games available (or at least not at peak performance), so I can confirm that the following games created with the SDK 0.8 do work with Oculus Rift DV1 using this method (tested by ourselves):

Here you can see some games running:

Have you tried any more to work and is worthy of appearing on the list? We are all eyes. Track
